Glendale Glitters

We checked out Glendale Glitters last weekend with Jay and Beth. Cameron had a good time oohing over the lights and eating her little ice cream cone.

Christmas Tree

We got the tree up last weekend and Cameron had a ball putting all the ornaments on. We did have to move them all from the same 3 branches after she was done though!

New Swingset

We finally decided to put together Cameron's birthday present that we got a couple weeks ago. Well, I decided that Brian and Adam, my brother, were going to put it together. It came out great and Cameron is very happy with her new playground! She even helped us shovel rocks out of the way. We are getting something to put down under it so it won't always be dirt, although I don't think Cameron cares at all.

Halloween

Cameron, Ellie, and Grant had a fun Halloween! The girls went trick-or-treating in the wagon and got lots of candy (that mom and dad will have to "check out" first). Cameron was only scared by one kid's Joker costume, but that did her in for about 20 minutes though.

2 year check up

Cameron had her 2 year check up last week too. She was 29 lbs and 36", or I guess we can now go to feet now, so she was 3' tall. Someone told me to double the height at 2 years old and that's how tall they'll be. Poor thing is going to be 6' tall! I think we'll just have to wait and see, although she has been at the top of the charts height-wise since she was born.

At The Park

A few pics from the park yesterday. Cameron got down the little slide alone with no problem after a trip down with Brian the first time. The big covered twisty slide was another story. Brian said her eyes were pretty big when she went down it with me.

Playing Dress Up

We got Cameron's Halloween costume a few days ago and she had to try the entire thing on as soon as we got home. Just a few shots of the Barbie Princess.

Band Day

We took Cameron and her friend Ellie to ASU Band Day on Saturday this weekend. I have to admit it was fun and I miss those days. We met up with Elissa, Nick, Evie, and Josh so the kids all had fun playing in the stands too. They were pretty into the music at first, then Cameron was mostly concerned with the next band that was lined up in the waiting area and when they were going to come out. The ASU band was great and it was good to see them back to their old size of over 300. I think my last year there we were around 360. Boy what a difference that sound is between the big high school bands of 100+ and a college band of 300+.

We had dinner and my brother-in-law Chris fed Cameron a bunch of frozen yogurt for dessert. We all paid for that one on the 45 minute ride home when she talked non-stop the entire time, sang her ABC's, and generally said anything she could think of. No one in the rest of the car was speaking at all and she just kept right on. I think she was up until about 9pm after we got home!

Birthday Girl

Cameron had a little birthday party yesterday with some family. Nothing too big but we had fun and she still got a ton of presents. Adam and Jessica got her a crown which she loved and Ellie came over to play for a little bit.

Almost 2!

We can hardly believe how fast the time has gone. Cameron's 2nd birthday is right around the corner. We have been practicing the happy birthday song and blowing out the candles so maybe she'll do it when everyone is around. She's still afraid of the smoke from the candles though.

We are still potty training and I caught this funny shot of Cam reading her ABC book sitting on her potty. Don't mind the pink socks and jelly shoes in the last shot. She has started picking out her own shoes and I'm sure clothes are right around the corner.

Baby Grant

We had the privilege of babysitting Laura's newborn, Grant a few days ago. Cameron just wanted to stare at him and kept buckling him into the car seat every time we unhooked it. I swear I have totally forgotten how small newborns are already.

Sunday Morning Breakfast

Here we are making our traditional Sunday morning hotcakes and reading the newspaper. I'll admit, I do use the mix and not great-grandma's recipe but they're almost as good when you add a bunch of sugar as grandma did! You can also see that food never stays on the plate in that last shot. As Cameron says, "dump it?" right before she does exactly that.

She also loves to help put away the clean dishes too. I'm going to try to keep her interested in that as long as I can!

The busted lip happened yesterday when Cameron fell out of a baby bathtub that was on the floor. I had just brought it in from a rental and set it down to clean it when she insisted on climbing. Not sure how that happened seeing as it was on the floor already, but somehow a 3" fall yielded a bloody lip.
